Slow gas pumps

I hate slow gas pumps. I am recording this blog post right now as I am pumping gas at a more expensive but faster pump. Some stations offer cheaper pricing, but I think you have to pay for it with your time because the pumps can just take forever. Paying a few more cents per gallon is worth it. You may say I'm being wasteful with my money, but I'd say you were being wasteful with your life.

If I chose the station that was 6 cents cheaper, this blog post would be four times as long.

X-Men for NES

I ordered X-Men for NES a few weeks ago and I still haven't received it. I was hoping to do a show on LJN games soon, but there's no way that I can leave this game out. This is a game that I purchased for the sheer novelty of owning it, and to experience the enjoyment of how much it fails.

I can still remember renting this game as a child and being so excited because the cover of the game is so cool. Even as a small boy, I found the graphics and gameplay appalling. It is probably one of the most disappointing games that I have ever experienced.

Let's all hope that the cartridge safely arrives in Cyrus' hands!

Voice blogs

This is the first of probably many blog entries where I will be using voice recognition through my phone to compose an entry. It really does get hard sometimes to find the time to type out an entire blog entry and then still find time to do all the fun things that I enjoy doing a normal basis. I'm curious as to how well this voice recognition thing actually works, so it'll be a fun experiment to say the least.

Cyrus doesn't want anything for Black Friday

I don't want anything for Black Friday. There isn't really anything new or cool this year. I remember a long time ago when flatscreen TVs first became en vogue; everyone had to have one. Also, there was a time where everyone had to have a PS3 or Xbox 360. And before that it was the GPS that everyone had to have. What was it before that? The iPod maybe?

What does everyone need right now? I don't really need that much. The Wii U was just released and it is not being featured at a below retail price on Black Friday. The Nintendo 3DS is a very appealing choice but there aren't really deals for the XL version.

Just a few years back, Raven braved the Black Friday crowds and picked up a PlayStation 3 in a very victorious manner. Years before I met Raven, I picked up a Dreamcast on Black Friday in a very heroic way. Unfortunately for people who enjoy making big Black Friday purchases, this year's selections leave a great deal to be desired. On Thanksgiving, Microsoft offered a number of really highly discounted games that could be purchased online. Many 50 and $60 games retailing for only $25. Again, these deals were online, so you didn't even have to leave your home (the deals are now gone). Maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't see myself braving Black Friday crowds to save on a couple video games that would likely go down in price shortly anyway.

Perhaps I'd feel differently if I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt.

"Mouth is alive
with juices like wine.
And I'm hungry like the wolf."

-Duran Duran

Thanksgiving without the turkey.

I don't like turkey very much.

I know there are many people who are similar to me in this regard. I wish it wasn't common to eat turkey for Thanksgiving as it is not really a food that I'm thankful for. I would prefer some nice sushi. Even something simple like a California roll would be a huge improvement over turkey.

Let's save the turkeys.

Thanksgiving Episode Extravaganza!! Gobble gobble

Hi all,

Check out our newest podcast episode! Tonight's Thanksgiving special will go down in history as one of our more interesting adventures!

We were joined by Gobble aka Putin Bear and Jarret91. Before we eat Turkey and vegan treats, we all sat down and had a discussion of games we are thankful for.

Raven goes over many video game Black Friday deals! If you want a cheap Xbox 360 or PS3, listen in and find out!

There's an impromptu call from Camelot alumnus Lighty Chan! Thanks for participating, Lighty!

We are very, very thankful for all the listeners out there! Be safe and have a great Turkey Day!

Cyrus Purchases!

Here's a listing of what I've recently purchased (and I'm waiting for delivery). It has been a while since I've made a little splurge and added to the collection. Honestly, it is quite fun opening up boxes of new games and trying them out one by one. I think that it is especially fun going through new cartridges and taking a look at them; cover art seems to be a lot more meaningful when it is attached to a cartridge compared to being on a jewelcase or plastic case. There's a decent range of games here, some NES, SNES, Gamecube, and a Genesis title. I look forward to talking about some of these on the podcast once I've received them.
